Emergency Roadservice Representative (Current Employee) –  Macon, GAJune 19, 2019
I would highly recommend working at GEICO. Most everybody is nice. Really the only complaint is it can be unbelievablly boring after about 1 year. Defintaly try it though, it is a lot of money!
Pros
Great employees and supervisors
Cons
Changing roles and advancment system is difficult to navigate

Licensed Insurance Representative (Former Employee) –  Lakeland, FLJune 19, 2019
Depends on your team and department, but the majority of the business is filled with hard working individuals who all want the same thing, to help the company grow and eachother to do better. Great pay, flexible schedules, and plenty of different career opportunities.

Licensed Sales Agent (Former Employee) –  Carmel, INJune 19, 2019
Horrible, stressful environment and their management is terrible. Pay for someone with an undergrad was below 33k. Direct Manager was offensive and highly inappropriate that upper management wouldn’t do anything about despite several complaints from several employees until after over four employees left due to him. He was eventually demoted a little too late. Overtime is offered and you are expected to work it. Typical call center trap with the negative work environment long hours and micromanaged to the max.

Service Representative 3 (Current Employee) –  Lakeland, FLJune 18, 2019
hardest part of the job is having to meet the metrics and also dealing with the upset customers. I learned a lot about insurance and how to explain it to customers.

Good Pay and Good opportunities if you are willing to work hard
Licensed Claims Adjuster (Current Employee) –  Macon, GAJune 18, 2019
Good pay and good opportunities if you are willing to work hard. The best training out there for the insurance industry, but the work is hard. The rewards are there if you can grind it out on a consistent basis.

Legal Secretary (Current Employee) –  Marlton, NJJune 17, 2019
The workload is fair and you are trained to be able to handle tall. What I didn't care for is that support staff tells upper management what they want to do instead of the other way around.

Auto Adjuster II / Catastrophe Adjuster (Current Employee) –  Los AngelesJune 17, 2019
I have worked for Geico all over the country as a catastrophe adjuster. Everywhere else in the country the employees are happy. California is the exception. I would say if you have a chance to work for Geico anywhere other then California, go for it. Good luck.

SENIOR AUTO DAMAGE ADJUSTER (Current Employee) –  Los Angeles County, CAJune 16, 2019
Great company to work for & culture is one of a kind. Management is very respectful of all employees. Unfortunately GEICO is no longer offering OT & they are closely managing hours worked daily which takes away from self independence & micro managing is now the standard.
Pros
Benefits, company car
Cons
no OT

A job not for the faint of heart.
Auto Damager Adjuster (Current Employee) –  Concord, caJune 16, 2019
Constant staffing issues result in:
-high unmanageable claim volumes.
-Being forced to work in territories weren't hired for.
-Negative impact on graded metrics which impacts promotions/pay raises.

Upper management is so far removed from the actual job that they do not care/understand how the constant micromanagement negatively effects the job which is actually not a bad job.

Ultimately what GEICO is willing to pay is not worth the stress and heartache.
Pros
Flexible schedule
Cons
Micromanagement

Certain departments in Geico can be more stressful than others but overall great company to work for. Lots of diversity and opportunities at Geico. One of the most enjoyable parts of the job is helping people when they are in need.

Worst experience ever
Military Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Virginia Beach, VAJune 15, 2019
worse job I've ever had. Training was horrible and extremely unprofessional. The coaches, quality and supervisors may the calls and training way more complexed than needed. It was guarantee there was going to be at least 2-4 people breaking down crying every day. More than half my training class quit or was let go before training ended.

Insurance Agent (Former Employee) –  Poway, CA 92064June 14, 2019
I really did enjoy working for GEICO because the benefits and the pay is amazing. However, the amount of customer service that is demanded is very draining and I think it's completely unfair how they would not allow service reps to speak Spanish if they were fluent. Aside from those flaws i enjoyed the training process and the moral around the workplace.

Great company; prepare for the position
CUSTOMER SERVICE REP (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAJune 13, 2019
The company itself was great. The training process was lengthy and provided a lot of information. A typical day as a customer service representative consisted of clocking in through your computer, wearing a headrest and taking calls for the entirety of your shift. You were provided the mandated breaks and a 1 hour lunch. The management is great and they really motivated us to grow within the company. The cafeteria was amazing with a chef and inexpensive meals that were usually under $5. I really enjoyed my time there, however the position itself and being emotionally strong to deal with customers was draining. I also started losing my voice for talking for so long.

Dead end job
Liability Claims Adjuster (Former Employee) –  Renton, WAJune 12, 2019
Geico promises room for growth and advancement but will only promote 2–3 people out of the 40+ employees on the floor. Extremely difficult having weekends off and forget about sick days. Once you’ve exhausted your PTO, then you’re pretty much written up for calling sick, even with a doctors note or fmla. Management is like the Mean girls movie and they pick and chose who they want to apply the rules to. Nothing is consistent, procedures change with little to no communication. Their “communication” platform is through a one note that hasn’t been updated since 2016. I could go on, but this is basically the job every one hates. Oh, and unless you’ve been promoted, every single second of your life here has to be accounted for.

Senior Collection Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Washington, DC 20076June 11, 2019
A typical day at work involved turn on your computer, review your accounts and prioritized your work load. Workplace culture was a professional environment. The difficult part of the job was dealing with a Micro Managers. The most enjoyable part of the job was obtaining my goals.
