Fun work environment with free membership
Daycare Assistant (Former Employee) – Elverson, PA – April 28, 2014
I would be the first to work almost every day because I was so excited to get there. I would unlock the daycare, turn on the lights, set up the TV with a selection of movies for the kids, and clean every toy with bleach and allow to air dry. The kids would show up with their parents in the morning, some had a hard time being left with the daycare staff while their parents went to work out so I would get their attention by asking them to color or play or dance with me. The parents would attend work-out classes while we watched their kids, usually from 10 am to around 1 or 2pm. The kids would bring a lunch or snack and I helped them open food containers and sit with them to maintain calm snack time. Sometimes in the evenings we watched older children, probably 10 years up to 13, and we would help with homework or draw together. Usually after school care was only 3 to 4 hours.
After all members were done their work out at night, I would lock up the building. I would clean all equipment, weights, exercise balls, floor mats. Mop all the floors, vacuum the carpets, and clean the mirrors. I scrubbed both restrooms every nights, toilets, toilet paper and hand towel dispensers, all the sinks, mirrors, and wipe down all the showers; shower head, water knobs, walls, and floors. Sanitize all lockers handles. As soon I was finished night time cleaning, I was responsible for securing the building. I would do a walk through and check all windows were locked, back door was locked, and lock front door behind myself when I left each night.
Very clean environment. Fast paced. Awesome kids. Free membership to work-out and attend classes
Low pay. Lack of advancement or salary raise.
